Boost your superstar status by leveraging Leave Logic to make your life easier, while increasing the service to your team! This article is packed with tips to help you excel in your day-to-day work.

Serving Employees

Chances are that one of the reasons you partner with Leave Logic is to enhance the employee leave experience. We’ve seen admins take a couple of approaches when an employee comes to them for support for the first time, and both are very successful strategies for getting employees off to a great start on their leave journey.

  • The Self-Serve Focused Approach – If you want to have limited interactions with employees to start, create a powerhouse email that you can send to an employee immediately after they come to you for support and let your LeaveLogic solution do the heavy lifting. Link the employee to create a LeaveLogic account and to our Getting Started Help Center Articles. Employees will appreciate that you’ve provided them with a dedicated tool, packed with centralized information that is personalized for their unique scenario, that they can review independently.

  • The Tech Supported White Glove Approach – Enhance that first interaction by taking the first step for the employee. Use the “Create a Shared Leave Plan” feature to set up the employee’s initial Leave Plan and invite the employee when you are ready for them to have access and explore on their own. This approach gives you immediate access to their Leave Plan and provides visibility into any updates right from the start.

Once employees have a chance to explore on their own, you’ll find they come with more informed questions (or none at all!) and ultimately require less time to service.

Staying Organized

Need an at-a-glance view of employees who are using Leave Logic to plan a future leave, are in the middle of a current leave, or recently returned from leave? The HR Admin Dashboard gives you real-time feedback on how many employees are using LeaveLogic. You can filter your list of employees when you click on the Filters button and/or column headings to Sort. You also have at-a-glance information at the top of the HR Admin Dashboard via the Leave Activity, Leave Summary and Leave Types reporting tiles.

Check out our series on Editing Employee Leave Plans section in the Leave Logic Help Center to learn about making adjustments to plans, such as adding intermittent time or archiving a Leave Plan.

There are a couple additional features you may find helpful if you need to coordinate with other teams and/or resources, such as payroll.

Click View Details for Upcoming Leaves or Due to Return on the Leave Activity report to view employees with upcoming leaves in the next 60 days or those due to return in the next 30 days.

Use the Download button on the HR Admin Dashboard page to receive an export of an employee's requested leave start and end dates, including intermittent blocks of time.

View the Leave Plan timeline to see the same view as an employee on the Leave Plan page.

Use the Download Benefits button in an individual employee’s Leave Plan page to receive an excel summary of the start and end dates for the various benefits they may be eligible to take, as seen below.

Keeping Up-to-Date

Say your company just added a new location in a state you’ve never supported before. Leave Logic can help you get up to speed on the state legislation quickly and easily. Use the Create a Sample Leave Plan feature to model any of the leave scenarios (parental, medical, family care, etc.), review the applicable state benefits on the dashboard and how they interact with your company benefits as well as determine if there are any state-specific tasks employees may need to complete.

Click the left navigation 3 bar menu, then Sample Leave Plans to get started
